Yeah Silver is shiny and super cool, however there's pros and cons when using Silver applied as a 3D material. Rules for metals are easy to understand in theory but difficult to apply in reality. I've been doing renders with metals for more than 8 years and I've come out with some conclusions and rules. First of all Silver is super easy to mess up, the more polished the material is the more difficult and reflective it becomes. Polished silver reflects a lot of light so when you add a 3D environtment is pretty common to burn the hell out of the material, and you can easily spot this mistake because "overburned" white pixel-reflections are considered "loss of information" and same thing applies with black 100%.

Comparing silver with Bronze I'd rather use bronze because is naturally more opaque, however the trick with silver is to find the right balance between not as much reflectiveness and some roughness (around 15%) to kill the white spots. In my case I use Nacho Riesco's materials for Keyshot Pro and they work really cool, the library has some unique types of Silver including HD and Aged ones. The second thing when I look into this metallic materials is saturation and color variation, because the material by itself doesn't do all the work. I'll say 50% is having the right high-quality material and the other 50% is having a bad ass HDRI (3D Environment) to work with. Silver works both with organic shapes and hard surfaces but my fav style is with the second one and you can compare both styles in the images below.

I also like to say that High Quality Silver comes with a price so those images take between 2 and 3+ hours to cook depending on the size and the details of the Artworks.

For me those are some fundamentals of 3D Silver, (there are more of course) but I wanted to talk about that stuff so you can get an idea. With that said I'll post 10 of my Fav works that I knocked out of the Park with this techniques. Ladies and Gents this is how I use Silver, just take a look.

Bronze is one of the most underrated materials to apply in 3D Characters. Metallic shinny materials such Gold and Silver are very common among 3D users however there aren't many artists who use 3D bronze. If you ever wonder why is because bronze is more complex to render than Gold 24K or Silver. Yep Bronze is a hard one, specially to get it right. So what I did in order to create my Renders was to study 3D Graph Materials in the Keyshot 7 Pro Editor. However the coolest Bronze materials I've found across the Internet were made by Nacho Riesco. He made them specially for Jewelry and such but I use it to figurines and characters. Compared to other materials Bronze works Fantastic with Close Up and full characters. I can't tell the same story about gold, period. The Artworks that I'm going to show here are all made with the Nacho Riesco's material library that I bought at his official page on Cubebrush. To make things cooler I added a couple of modifications to the original ones and came out epic like this. Once you appreciate the beauty and complexity of Bronze you'll find that is not underrated anymore. With that said I'm glad to present my top 8 Bronze collection.

Hey Guys this is a Very Cool Compilation of Black Renders. A style I Researched and develop this year 2022. I made it to be the Opposite of the Porcelain and Gold Style so this one comes with New Render materials such High Quality Silver, See trough materials and variations of Blackberry and Gold 24. The Blackish / Purple effect is caused by the interactions of the Metallic materials with the HDRI / 3D environment. Check out some of the Artworks I did with this new study, Is dark, Is creepy and very cool. What do you think of this Style?
